PAW PAW, Mich. (WOOD) - A 38-year-old has been charged with stabbing and killing a man in Paw Paw.
Williams Stephens, of Illinois, was arraigned Thursday on one count of open murder.
Trey Yarbrough, 20, of Kalamazoo was stabbed at the Lakeside Inn in Paw Paw late Tuesday. He made it to a nearby gas station and called 911, but died of his injuries.
Stephens was arrested Wednesday in Battle Creek after an eight-hour manhunt.
Police have not yet provided a motive for the violence, nor have they said why Yarbrough was in Paw Paw or what led them to Battle Creek.
Stephens has a criminal history and was released from a jail in Daviess County, Kentucky in February, where he was awaiting transport to another facility.
He is expected back in court on Oct. 16 for a preliminary hearing.
