SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. (WOOD) - A South Haven cardiologist is being hit with a fine by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for violating use of radioactive material.
Dr. Bradley Bastow must pay a $1,000 civil penalty.
The NRC says he didn't follow rules on how to conduct contamination surveys, calibrating survey instruments, conducting regular radioactive material inventories, and keeping accurate and complete records.
The discovery was made when the NRC made a special inspection on the office.
The NRC says the violations did not put anyone's health at risk.
