MILTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - The morning sunrise blinded a driver whose vehicle then collided with another vehicle, police said.
Cass County authorities and rescue personnel were dispatched around 8:07 a.m. Tuesday to the scene in Milton Township.
Police said in a news release that David Cooper was eastbound on Redfield Street when he couldn't see due to the sun and failed to stop at the intersection of Brush Road.
His vehicle then collided with a vehicle driven by Florence Szymborski who was driving through the intersection, police said.
Cooper, 51, from Edwardsburg, and Szymborski, 65, from Niles, were treated at the scene for their injuries.
Szmborski was then transported to St. Joseph Medical Center for further treatment.
Both drivers wore their seat belts at the time of the crash, and alcohol was not a factor, police said.
