CALVIN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Police in Cass County continue their investigation after a 20-year-old man accidentally shot and injured his teen cousin.
The incident happened in the 66000 block of Tharp Lake Road in Calvin Township around 8:40 p.m. Wednesday.
Authorities said Jeremy Faye was checking a .22 rifle to make sure it was safe and clear of ammunition when he said he accidentally pulled the trigger.
The bullet hit his cousin, 17-year-old Christopher Burnham, in the stomach area.
Burnham was taken to a hospital where he is stable.
