ST. JOSEPH, Mich. (WOOD) - The St. Joseph Department of Public Safety is investigating a series of thefts from unlocked vehicles.
The department received multiple reports of thefts from vehicles Friday. Among the stolen items are GPS devices, cellphones, chargers, other electronics and loose change, police say.
There was a similar string of larcenies in St. Joseph in July 2012.
Police remind residents to lock their cars and secure their garages. They advise keeping vehicles locked even when parked in a garage.
Also, they say, anything of value should not be visible from the outside of the car.
They also advise keeping outdoor lights on.
