SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. (WOOD) - South Beach in South Haven is closed this weekend after watersamples revealed high levels of E. coli bacteria.
Public Health officials who reveiewed the samples said that thebacteria counts showed a level of about 358 E. coli per 100ml ofwater, which is higher than the acceptable standard of 300 per100ml.
The beach will remain closed throughout the weekend, andadditional samples will be tested on Monday.
The city's North Beach has also been tested -- that water isfine to swim in, officials say.
Police are investigating a report of a home invasion, but say there are inconsistencies.
A Kalamazoo County sheriff's deputy will not face criminal sexual conduct charges.
A candlelight vigil was held Wednesday night for an innocent bystander who was shot and killed in October.
