COLDWATER TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A 58-year-old man is in a hospital after he was ejected from his vehicle that crashed in Branch County.
Milton Payne from Detroit was not wearing a seat belt and may have been drunk at the time of the crash, investigators said.
Witnesses called police about 12:29 a.m. Sunday after seeing the vehicle swerve across the southbound lanes of Interstate 69 near Newton Road in Coldwater Township.
They called 911 again to say that vehicle went into the median and rolled over, causing the driver to be ejected, according to a news release.
Sheriff's deputies arrived and saw the victim lying on the ground near the vehicle, which was in the median near the northbound lanes.
A medical helicopter was called to the scene and took the victim to Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
