GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A Facebook page to honor the memory of Wes Leonard has been bombarded with posts showing obscene photos and comments.
The 16-year-old collapsed minutes after scoring the game-winning points vs. Bridgman -- lifting his team to a perfect 20-0 season -- and later died at Holland Hospital.
The obscene posts seem to be coming from the same two or three people.
Members of the page are fighting back, trying to post positive comments quicker than negative ones can sprout back up -- so the offensive ones are pushed to the bottom.
24 Hour News 8 contacted Facebook about the page, but no one responded Monday.
The site has said in the past that its policy is to "respond and react quickly to inappropriate content," including "pornography and harassment."
Two other Rest in Peace, Wes Leonard pages have been created. One is private, meaning you have to be a friend in order to view or post there.
News 8 will keep you updated with the latest.
