FLOWERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A woman was injured and cited after crashing her vehicle in St. Joseph County.
Donna Rees was driving west on M-216 east of Bent Road in Flowerfield Township when her vehicle went off the right side of the road and overturned, police said.
The 65-year-old from Kalamazoo told police at the scene that she swerved to avoid striking a small animal in the road, around 5:45 p.m. Sunday.
Witnesses said she was driving erratically and speeding prior to the crash, according to a news release.
Rees was transported to Three Rivers Health after suffering minor injuries. She wore her seat belt at the time of the crash.
She was cited for driving without due care.
