LAWRENCE, Mich. (WOOD) - More than 50 cats were found in a Van Buren County home earlierthis month.
A Child Protective Services worker was visiting the residence inLawrence and noticed the abundance of animals. The worker thencontacted the Society of thePrevention of Cruelty to Animals of Southwest Michigan and Animal's Best Friend.
Officials from both groups went to the home on July 3 and beganremoving the cats, Michelle McNatt of Animal's Best Friend told 24Hour News 8.

McNatt said they are contacted to investigate about five pethoarding situations a year in southwest Michigan.
