CONSTANTINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Two Indiana residents were arrested in southern Michigan following a possible larceny attempt and then fleeing authorities.
A Shipshewana man and Middlebury female were taken into custody on drug charges.
Witnesses saw a suspicious, blue pickup truck on New England Road in Constantine Township and its occupants attempting a possible larceny, according to a news release.
Residents talked with the vehicle's occupants and then called police around 2 a.m. Monday.
The truck left the scene and the residents followed at a safe distance police said.
The suspects eventually pulled off the road and stopped behind a residence on Beers Road.
St. Joseph County sheriff's deputies arrived at this scene and noticed the truck's occupants ran away.
A police K-9 unit from the Sturgis Police Department was able to track the suspects into a nearby field where they were apprehended.
