HUDSONVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) - A 79-year-old woman who hit a 15-year-old boy with her car at a bus stop near Marne in April has entered a plea to a misdemeanor charge.
Margaret Gessner pleaded no contest Tuesday to one count of moving violation causing serious impairment of a body function in 58th District Court in Hudsonville.
The crash happened around 7 a.m. on April 25 near Eighth Avenue and Arthur Street in Wright Township while a school bus was stopped with its flashing lights on.
Victim Jovany Viveros was crossing the street to get to the bus when he was hit by Gessner's car. Viveros was taken to a hospital in Grand Rapids to be treated for a brain injury and several broken bones.
Both Gessner and her passenger received minor injuries.
