GRAND HAVEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A 25-year-old Holland man died Thursday after being run over at an Ottawa County highway construction site.
The crash happened around 3:20 p.m. on southbound U.S. 31 near Warner Street in Grand Haven Township. Crews are installing "Michigan left turns" and one southbound lane has been closed during the project.
Police said Robert Greving was working off the road when a co-worker operating a Bobcat-type tractor put the machine in reverse to level some gravel and hit Greving.
The co-worker did not see Greving, police said.
Greving was transported to North Ottawa Community Hospital in Grand Haven and pronounced dead there.
The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the incident.
