HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) - Police in Holland are investigating a robbery that occurred at a gas station early Monday morning.
Officers were dispatched around 6:50 a.m. to the Shell gas station at 363 S. River Ave.
The clerk told police a man walked into the business and demanded all of the money from the cash register. The clerk said the suspect threatened her with what appeared to be a handgun underneath his hooded sweatshirt.
The clerk cooperated with the suspect's demands and gave him the cash, according to a news release from the Holland Department of Public Safety.
The suspect fled the scene east toward Central Avenue. A police K-9 unit tracked the suspect to an area near 16th Street and Central Avenue but then lost the scent.
The suspect is described as a 6-foot tall, black male; weighing 200 pounds, having a deep voice and brown eyes, and wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt, a black mask, and black pants.
