HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) - Police arrested three people after an alleged felonious assault Tuesday morning, according to a Holland Department of Public Safety release.
The victim told police that a man who lives across the street in the 400 block of Stratford Way entered his apartment with an handgun and threatened him at about 11:40 a.m., but did not fire any shots.
By the time police arrived, the suspect had already walked back to his own apartment. After a brief standoff, police called the 30-year-old suspect out of the apartment and arrested him.
After searching the apartment, officers found the handgun and another 31-year-old suspect who was hiding in the attic because he was wanted on outstanding warrants from another jurisdiction. He was also arrested and could face charges of obstructing police.
A 23-year-old female suspect who is a resident of the apartment was also arrested after lying to police during their investigation. Police plan to charge her with obstruction, as well.
The 30-year-old suspect, Jason Scott Spencer, was arraigned Wednesday on charges of felonious assault with a dangerous weapon, a four-year felony; felony firearm, a 2-year felony; and receiving and concealing a stolen firearm, a 10-year felony.
Bond was set at $5,000.00 cash or surety.
Spencer, of Holland, was also arraigned on unrelated warrants of simple assault and driving on a suspended license. Bond for those was set at $2,000 and $1,000 respectively.
As of Wednesday, the prosecutor had not yet issued charges of other suspects involved in the incident. Their names are being withheld pending arraignment.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the alleged assault.
