MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (WOOD) - Mount Pleasant police say the Central Michigan University coed found dead Tuesday appears to have died of a known medical condition.
Kelly Markatos, 22, of Holland was studying public relations at CMU. She was found dead in her off-campus apartment by her roommates on Tuesday morning.
The Mount Pleasant Police Department told 24 Hour News 8 Wednesday it is still awaiting autopsy results.
However, based upon interviews with Markatos' roommates, investigators believe a medical condition likely caused her death. They say she had a previously known condition, though they would not specify what that was.
Police are waiting on autopsy results, which are expected Wednesday or Thursday, to confirm the cause of death.
They reiterated that they do not believe foul play was involved.
Fred Glespie was found not guilty in the death of three children who died in an apartment fire.
Police are looking for the suspect in an armed robbery that occurred at a gas station in Plainwell Thursday night.
The rink will be open that day from 3-9 p.m.
