CROCKERY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A motorcyclist was critically injured after crashing along an Ottawa County highway.
Russell Rose was traveling west on Interstate 96 when the wreck occurred around 2 a.m. Thursday near Mile Marker 8 in Crockery Township, near Nunica.
He apparently hit a construction barrel, causing him to lose control of the bike and crash in the median, police at the scene told 24 Hour News 8.
The 66-year-old from Fruitport was wearing a helmet at the time.
He was transported to a Grand Rapids hospital.
Police said alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
