GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (WOOD) - An 18-year-old Grand Haven woman says her ex-boyfriend held her against her will for two hours and then assaulted her.
Kyle Christianson, 20, of Spring Lake was charged Wednesday with unlawful imprisonment and felonious assault.
Officers responded around 9 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a missing person. The investigation revealed suspicious circumstances surrounding the victim's disappearance, according to a news release from the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety.
Police interviewed the victim's mother who said her daughter and daughter's ex-boyfriend had planned to meet. The mom told police she was concerned for her daughter's safety.
Officers found the teen and took her home around 11 p.m.
The victim told police the suspect held her at knifepoint against her will, drove her to locations in Grand Haven, and physically assaulted her. She suffered a contusion to her head.
Officers located and arrested Christianson around 2 a.m. in Grand Haven.
Christianson's bond was set at $15,000. If he posts bond, he will have to wear an electronic tether and stay at least two miles away from the victim.
He is expected back in an Ottawa County courtroom on Sept. 4.
Thirty-three-year-old Ronald T. Smith II was grew up in Warren.
