ZEELAND, Mich. (WOOD) - As friends and fellow students at Zeeland West High School gathered Thursday morning to pray for his recovery, Kyle Bruursema remained in critical condition following a high-speed crash near the Ottawa Area Tech Center a day earlier.
Witnesses told police the driver was speeding in his full-size GMC pickup truck on southbound Port Sheldon Street in Olive Township at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Bruursema lost control of his vehicle near 104th Avenue, north of New Holland Street. He over-corrected, authorities said, and crossed the road, went through a ditch, struck a utility pole, causing the truck to roll several times.
The numbers for the $636 million Mega Millions jackpot were drawn Tuesday night. Now, the country waits to see if there's a winner of the second largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history.
Authorities say a woman was assaulted as she sat in her car at a Holland Township stop sign Tuesday.
A West Michigan landscaper admitted to Target 8 he owes several people thousands of dollars.
