ZEELAND, Mich. (WOOD) - A dump truck driver suffered minor injuries when his vehicle tipped over at a road construction site in Ottawa County.
The truck was dumping sand Wednesday morning in the 200 block of Roosevelt Avenue in Zeeland, in front of ODL Inc.
Police earlier told 24 Hour News 8 that it happened on the property of ODL Inc., and an excavator struck and fell on top of the dump truck, pinning the truck driver.
But an ODL Inc. spokesperson later told 24 Hour News 8 it happened on the road and nobody from the company was involved in the incident.
Schippers Excavation from West Olive is the excavating company in charge of the construction project.
The truck driver was transported to a hospital for evaluation.
Officers from multiple law enforcement agencies worked together Tuesday evening to chase down an alleged van thief, despite slippery roads.
