HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) - A man accused of robbing a Holland business was arrested a few hours later at his home.
Spencer Davis was taken into custody Sunday and arraigned Monday on one count of felony larceny in a building. His bond was set at $5,000.
Police said he was at Shaker Messenger Gift Shop, 210 S. River Ave., around 2:30 p.m. Sunday and asked the merchant about some on-sale items near the cash drawer. When the merchant briefly went to another room, police said, that is when Davis opened the drawer and stole some cash.
The suspect ran from the store after putting the stolen money in a pink, plastic bag that he had with him.
"Detectives were called to investigate this incident immediately after it occurred, and based on the description linked this incident to this suspect based on prior contacts," according to a news release.
"A photo lineup of the suspect was conducted and witnesses were able to identify Davis as the suspect involved."
Officers tracked and arrested Davis at his home but did not find the stolen money, which was possibly given to another person.
