ZEELAND, Mich. (WOOD) - No one was hurt after a car hit the front of a Zeeland business Saturday.
Around 1:30 p.m., calls came in to dispatchers about a car hitting the front of Paradise Bound Thrift & Shoppe on West Washington Ave in Zeeland.
An eyewitness says the vehicle did not go through the front of the store because a brick wall absorbed most of the force of the car.
It is unclear exactly why the car hit the business, but it appears to be an accident.
An employee at Paradise Bound tells 24 Hour News 8 they didn't lose any merchandise in the accident. Their front door and a small window were broken in the crash. The business had to close for the rest of the day Saturday, but they will reopen on Tuesday. "Could have been a lot worse. We can fix this," the employee said over the phone to 24 Hour News 8.
No one was hurt in the incident.
A sheriff's deputy car and a Michigan State Police SUV were among the damaged vehicles.
Broadmoor Avenue has reopened after it was shut down due to a four-vehicle crash in Caledonia.
The extravaganza was Dec. 11, 2013 in downtown Grand Rapids.
