PARK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A body has been found in Lake Macatawa, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department.
The body was found around 2:30 p.m. Monday in the lake south of Dyken Avenue's dead end in Park Township.
A jet skier saw the body floating in the water and called police. Authorities soon recovered the body, which appears to be that of a woman.
Authorities have not yet positively identified the body. An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday.
Lt. Steve Kempker of the sheriff'[s department said Tuesday that authorities were waiting for dental records and may have a positive identification Wednesday.
Last week, 55-year-old Barbara Westveer was reported missing just blocks away from the lake in Park Township. Ottawa County investigators searched the lake on boats at the time.
