PIERSON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A white or light-colored vehicle, possibly an SUV, was seen parked in the driveway of Michael and Kathleen Greene's house before the residence was torched late in the evening of Oct. 28.
The Greenes were killed inside their home before the fire, police said.
An autopsy on the couple confirmed their deaths were a homicide , but investigators with the Montcalm County Sheriff's Department and the Michigan State Police are not revealing the cause of death.
Although investigators haven't honed in on a motive, they said at this point, they don't believe this was a random crime. Catching the person or people responsible will rely partially on a tip from the public, officials said.
If anyone has information about the crime, they're asked to call the Montcalm County Sheriff's Office at 989.831.7590, Silent Observer at 866.774.2345, or the Arson Tip Line at 800-44-ARSON.
Vehicles occupied by a sheriff's deputy and a Michigan State Police motor carrier officer were hit.
A fire damaged three garages and some homes in a Grand Haven neighborhood early Thursday morning.
The suspects stole cash and fled the scene.
