WHITE CLOUD, Mich. (WOOD) - A White Cloud High School football coach has been charged with criminal sexual conduct.
Ethan Wendell was arrested Monday by White Cloud police officers and later arraigned in Newaygo County District Court on three charges of criminal sexual conduct.
Information about those charges has been difficult to obtain. Judge H. Kevin Drake signed an order July 17 that seals the details of Wendell's case until his arraignment in Newaygo County Circuit Court.
24 Hour News 8 was unable to contact White Cloud Public Schools Tuesday and was therefore unable to learn if the charges involve students.
White Cloud Police Chief Robert Mendham was not willing to answer any questions about the arrest or the investigation Tuesday.
Wendell was suspended from both coaching and teaching duties in April while police investigated. His current employment status is unknown.
Wendell did not answer the door at his home Tuesday. He is due back in court Thursday for a hearing.
Police are looking for the suspect in an armed robbery that occurred at a gas station in Plainwell Thursday night.
The rink will be open that day from 3-9 p.m.
Bethany Murk, 48, was arrested Thursday following a drug bust in Van Buren County.
