HINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash at a natural gas transfer station Tuesday afternoon.
The crash happened on 5 Mile Road at 100th Avenue in Mecosta County's Hinton Township, according to Michigan State Police. Authorities are not yet releasing the victim's name.
The vehicle involved struck a natural gas transfer station. DTE Gas crews were able to close off the valves and contain the national gas.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
The Mecosta County Sheriff's Department and Lakeview District Fire Department assisted at the scene.
