LAKETON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A woman died after being run over by her own vehicle, the Muskegon County Sheriff's Department confirms to 24 Hour News 8.
Olive Eldredge had just attended a craft show Wednesday night at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1725 W Giles Road in Laketon Township.
She got into her Dodge Durango in the parking lot around 6 p.m., started the engine and then got out of the vehicle, police said.
The vehicle must have been in gear, rolled backwards, and the driver's side door, which was open, knocked the 62-year-old to the ground.
The vehicle then rolled over Eldredge of North Muskegon, police said.
She died at the scene.
