MONTAGUE, Mich. (WOOD) - One person was killed on Thursday afternoon after his car was broadsided and rolled over near Montague.
A Honda Civic was headed south on rural Whitbeck Road around 2:45 p.m. when the male driver ran a stop sign, the Muskegon County Sheriff's Office said.
A Chrysler Voyager minivan driving along Fruitvale Road then broadsided the Civic. The car rolled several times, finally stopping in an empty field.
The driver of the Civic was pronounced dead at the scene.
The car's female passenger was taken to Hackley hospital with back and neck pain.
The male driver of the minivan sustained minor injuries.
He took a Breathalyzer test, which is standard procedure, that did not indicate he had been drinking. He also volunteered to have blood drawn.
The names of the victims, all of whom are from the Montague area, are not yet available.
