FRUITPORT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - An assistant coach for the Fruitport Soccer Club will go totrial after allegedly pulling a gun on a parent at a game.
James Sherrill on Tuesday was bound over to circuit court. Hewas arraigned last month on one count of felonious assault.

After the initial confrontation was broken up, another parent,Adam Eikenberry, approached Sherrill as he was leaving. That iswhen police said Sherrill pulled a concealed 9mm handgun from itsholster and pointed it at Eikenberry.
Sherrill, 35, later turned himself in to police and he wasarrested.
While Sherrill did have a permit to carry the handgun, firearmsare not allowed at sports arenas or stadiums. It will be up to theprosecutor to determine if he violated the law by having it at apark where there are soccer fields and baseball diamonds.
