MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) - A Michigan State Police helicopter will begin to fly regular patrols above the Muskegon area this week, according to the Muskegon Chronicle.
The helicopter flew regular patrols over Grand Rapids for nearly two months before noise complaints from residents prompted the City to ask MSP to cease the patrols in May.
Now, the Muskegon Chronicle reports, the helicopter will fly regularly over Muskegon, Muskegon Heights and other nearby areas. It's not yet known how often the patrols will be scheduled.
The helicopter is typically used to provide officers on the ground with a bird's eye view, which can aid in capturing suspects on the run.
