MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) - A man and woman are recovering in a hospital after being stabbed at a bar in Muskegon.
According to a news release, police were called to the Old Clover Bar, located at 817 East Forest Avenue at around 11:30 p.m. on reports of an assault Thursday night.
According to police, the man, 58, and the woman, 54, were both slashed in the throat and neck area with a cutting instrument. Both victims suffered serious injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment and surgery.
Police said the attack was unprovoked, and the victims had no connection to the suspect.
Witnesses gave police a description of the suspect, a 23-year-old Fruitport Township parolee, who was arrested blocks from the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
The search continues for one of two males accused of stealing money and a cellphone from someone they know, threatening the victim, and then fleeing the scene.
