FERRIS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A teenager from Montcalm County is facing numerous charges and warrants after being the target of a scrap metal theft investigation.
Brock Allen Peterson fled from Michigan State Police troopers as attempts were made to arrest him at a residence on Briggs Road near Vickeryville Road in Ferris Township on Sept. 2.
The Montcalm County Sheriff's Office K-9 team was dispatched to the scene and located the 18-year-old from Greenville in a nearby barn among large hay bales, according to a news release.
He was arrested on two felony charges of buying and selling non-ferrous metals, two felony larceny charges, a misdemeanor larceny charge, one parole violation warrant, four failure to appear in court warrants, and two out of county warrants.
A few flurries occurred Thursday night. Lows held in the teens and the wind relaxed to the 5 to 10 mph range, with 20s at the Lake Michigan.
On Thursday, the medical examiner's office said CMU student Kelly Markatos died as a result of the eating disorder bulimia.
