CANNON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - The risk of house fires increases in the fall as outdoor temperatures cool and residents start to crank up the heat.
Fires can start with overheated electrical boxes, clutter near gas furnaces or stoves, and exposed electrical switches.
And, of course, fireplace safety and proper maintenance is important in preventing a house fire.

A gallon of unleaded gasoline is being sold for less than $3 at some stations in West Michigan.
