LOWELL, Mich. (WOOD) - Fire crews have evacuated a family from their home after a fire sparked in Lowell Saturday morning.
The fire started just before 6 a.m. at a house in the 9000 block of East Fulton Street.
According to dispatchers, fire crews arrived at the scene shortly after 6 a.m., and saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the roof near the chimney.
Fire crews on scene told 24 Hour News 8 that the fire was contained by 7 a.m. and they are now looking for hot spots.
Everyone made it out of the house safely.
The fire remains under investigation.
Police are looking for the suspect in an armed robbery that occurred at a gas station in Plainwell Thursday night.
The rink will be open that day from 3-9 p.m.
Bethany Murk, 48, was arrested Thursday following a drug bust in Van Buren County.
