ROCKFORD, Mich. (WOOD) - The 15th annual Mitchell's Run received some national attention as ESPN was in Rockford to cover the event this year.
As thousands of people took to the streets Saturday morning to run or cheer for the runners, everyone was keeping their eyes on the finish line.
Crews from ESPN were there as well, watching 19-year-old Johnny Agar who is diagnosed with cerebral palsy.
24 Hour News 8 reported in June when Agar finished his first race.
On Saturday, he was determined to finish yet another race and did so with many supporters along the way.
"Now that I crossed, it feels like I am officially an athlete," Agar said.
At this time, it is unknown when Agar's segment will air on ESPN.
Saturday's race raised more than $57,000 to find a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
The event is named after Mitchell Peterson and has raised more than $800,000 since the inaugural race.
A 63-year-old Grand Rapids man has been sentenced after he pled no contest to having various pictures of him having sex with a teenage boy.
