CASNOVIA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A two-vehicle crash sent two people to the hospital and closed M-37 near Bailey Road for about an hour on Wednesday evening.
The crash occurred in front of the Casnovia Township Fire Station, according to Fire Chief Scott Pant, so firefighters and first responders were on the scene immediately.
A truck hauling a boat and another car collided, the fire chief said. The truck landed off the road. The boat was dislodged and landed in the middle of M-37.
The driver of the other vehicles was pinned in his car and had to be cut free by firefighters, according to the fire chief.
Two injured victims were taken away by ambulance. Pant said their injuries are not life-threatening.
The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. and was cleared by 8:30 p.m., when the road was reopened, Pant said.
A man is in jail, allegedly connected to 14 burglaries that occurred in Cass County this month.
A sheriff's deputy car and a Michigan State Police SUV were among the damaged vehicles.
