GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A former Kalamazoo financial advisor may be under investigation by the FBI for embezzling millions of dollars.
Joseph Fabian, whose website lists offices at 1201 S. Westnedge in Kalamazoo, 436 44th Street in Wyoming and in Elkhart, Indiana, had his broker registration suspended in 2009 by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. FINRA also barred him from the industry after a client who gave him $104,000 to buy real estate got suspicious and asked for documentation.
Fabian allegedly fabricated that documentation.
An attorney who represents 11 clients in lawsuits accusing Fabian of embezzling $2.7 million told 24 Hour News 8 the FBI has spoken with him about the case.
