GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Consumers Energy has added new trucks to its fleet in an effort to speed up response to storm damage.
Three 53-foot semi-trailers have been turned into what the energy company is calling "mobile storm units."
The units are equipped with the tools commonly needed for storm repair work. The hope is that they will help get the power back on fast after severe storms.
The mobile storm units will be located in Cadillac, Grand Rapids and Jackson and will be sent to places where storms are expected to hit.
It might be December but that is not stopping some people from "hanging 10" in Michigan.
A driver escaped safely after its vehicle crashed into the Grand River in Ottawa County Friday morning.
We get a brief break from the "lake-effect machine" Friday.
