ROCKFORD, Mich. (WOOD) - Authorities are looking for two Cannon Township teens who skipped school together Monday and are without their medication.
Gavin Vilchez and Renee Hunt, both 17, were last seen together around 1 p.m. on Atlanta Court NE in Rockford. Authorities say the Rockford High School students, who are believed to be in a relationship, skipped fourth and fifth hour Monday and are likely on foot. Both are in need of medication that they do not have with them.
The Kent County Search and Rescue Team actively searched for the pair in the area of Atlanta Court and 10 Mile Road NE Monday night and set up a command center at nearby Meadow Ridge Elementary School on Courtland Drive. Around 10:20 p.m., they paused the search to give K-9 units a rest, but later resumed their efforts.
Gavin is described as a 5-foot-7, 150-pound white male with with blonde hair and blue eyes, and numerous scars on his forearms. He was last seen wearing dark-colored clothing and carrying a backpack. He was wearing a Ride brand hooded snowboarding jacket and may have a long skateboard.
Renee is described as a 5-foot-5, 135-pound female with brown hair and blue eyes, and last seen wearing dark-colored clothing and carrying a dark-colored backpack. She also has several scars on various parts of her body.
