CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Allegiant Air, which 16 months ago opened a base at the Ford International Airport, will end that part of its operation and cut back on flights offered from Grand Rapids, an airport spokesperson told 24 Hour News 8.
The base housed two planes and a staff of about 60 people in West Michigan, including crews, pilots and flight attendants. After October 31, the airline will discontinue its base in Grand Rapids.
Allegiant will also discontinue its flights from Grand Rapids to Fort Lauderdale, Myrtle Beach and Punta Gorda, Florida, though its other flights to Orlando, Tampa, Phoenix and Las Vegas will continue.
