BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Two men were arrested Sunday morning after they stole scrap metal from a manufacturing business, authorities said.
A Kent County Sheriff deputy was called to Center Manufacturing on Piedmont Industrial Drive SW in Byron Township around 10:15 a.m. Sunday.
The deputy soon spotted two men loading scrap metal into a pickup truck. The two suspects caught sight of the deputy approaching and took off on foot.
Other deputies nearby quickly set up a perimeter. With the help of a Grand Rapids Police Department K9 unit, the two suspects were soon arrested.
The men are expected to be arraigned on larceny charges.
They remain lodged in the Kent County jail.
