COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A man is in critical condition after a vehicle hit him as he rode in bicycle on a Kalamazoo County road.
Police and rescue personnel were dispatched around 10:09 p.m. Monday to the scene on Sprinkle Road near E. Main Street in Comstock Township
The victim was riding north when he suddenly tried to cross over all lanes of the road to the southbound side, according to a news release from the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department. That is when a northbound vehicle struck him.
The 37-year-old victim from Parchment was transported to a hospital for treatment to “massive head injuries,” police said.
The driver of the vehicle, a 28-year-old from Kalamazoo, was not injured in the crash.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
