BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) - A 33-year-old man has been arrested in Indiana in connection to the murder of a Battle Creek man that occurred over two years ago.
Battle Creek Police say Shawn Thomas McKnight was arrested after a warrant for his arrest was approved on September 6, 2013.
In early September 2011, 27-year-old Terence Ware was shot in the chest near the intersection of Bowen Ave and Howland Street. Neighbors told 24 Hour News 8 a lot of young people were outside in the streets in the early morning hours; hanging out and partying.
Shots were fired and Ware was hit. Ware was pronounced dead at a Battle Creek hospital.
A second victim from the shooting showed up to a Battle creek hospital in a private vehicle.
Several law enforcement agencies worked together to find McKnight. He was arrested in Indianapolis, IN and is awaiting extradition to Battle Creek.
