KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - A man has died after fleeing from police and crashing his car in Kalamazoo Saturday morning.
The incident happened just after 3 a.m. in the 1300 block of Krom Street.
Public safety officers said they tried pulling over the 27-year-old driver on the suspicion of drunk driving.
The driver sped away from police and then didn't stop at the intersection of East Paterson and North Riverview Drive. The driver then crashed into a stone wall surrounding the Riverside Cemetery.
Public safety officers tried to save the driver, but said his injuries were too severe.
The name is being withheld at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
