KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - A man has been charged for allegedly fatally stabbing a woman in a house in Kalamazoo last weekend.
Jermal Donte Clark, 28, from Benton Harbor was arraigned Tuesday on a charge of open murder. He will be back in court Oct.22.
Detectives determined he used a knife to stab 52-year-old Rita Kay Williams, according to a news release.
She was found unresponsive Sunday afternoon at a home in the 1400 block of N. Church Street and later pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities were able to identify Clark as a person of interest in the case. He was found a short distance from the scene.
