SCHOOLCRAFT, Mich. (WOOD) - A Jackson County man is accused of breaking into a Kalamazoo County bar.
Someone called 911 around 2:45 a.m. Wednesday after noticing a suspicious person behind Bud's Bar in Schoolcraft.
Officers from the Schoolcraft Police Department responded to the scene at 220 N. Grand St., and noticed someone forced their way into back of the building.
Vicksburg police officers also responded and one officer saw the suspect run out of the front of the building.
Officers then chased after him.
The 911 caller told police the suspect ran near him and threatened him with a screwdriver, according to a news release.
Officers with the Portage Department of Public Safety, Vicksburg Police Department and Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office set up a perimeter in the area.
A Sheriff's Office police K-9 unit located the suspect who was then taken in to custody.
Charges are pending following a review by the Kalamazoo County Prosecutor's office.
