KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - Kalamazoo authorities say they found the vehicle hit a man with a car early Sunday and then fled the scene.
Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers arrived in the 2200 block of E. Kilgore Road around 1:10 a.m. Sunday to find a 20-year-old Kalamazoo man with serious injuries.
The victim was identified as Julian Watkins.
Authorities said Watkins had been hit by a vehicle, which had driven off before police arrived.
Police did not immediately have a vehicle or suspect description, but they found part of a front decorative license plate and a partial bug shield at the scene. They said the vehicle involved in the crash should have had significant damage to the right front end.
On Monday, authorities said they had identified the vehicle involved in the crash, along with all the occupants inside it, with the help of the public. KDPS said they appreciated the public's help.
Watkins was taken to a local hospital and remained listed in critical condition on Monday.
Anyone with more information is asked to contact KDPS at 269.337.8994 or Silent Observer at 616.343.2100.
