KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - Three people were arrested on six charges, with additional requested charges pending, following a drug bust in Kalamazoo.
Officers from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Community Outreach Problem Solving (COPS) Division on Monday investigated complaints regarding drug activity in the 800 block of S. Rose Street.
Officers approached the area and saw several people in the front of a residence that had been described as being involved in drug transactions, according to a news release.
Two of those people tried to run away, with one of them discarding a bag containing marijuana and crack cocaine packaged for sale, police said. Another suspect was located and officers became suspicious he was providing an alias when he could not correctly spell his name.
When his true identity was determined, he had four outstanding warrants for his arrest.
Officers then contacted the resident of the apartment involved with the investigation and arrested her on an outstanding warrant.
More crack cocaine was located packaged for sale on the front porch of the residence, police said.
