KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - Five adults were arrested during a drug bust at a Kalamazoo residence, where several young children were present.
Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team Officers, from the Community Outreach and Problem Solving Division (COPS), received a tip that drug activity was occurring in the 2200 block of Luella Street in Kalamazoo.
Officers obtained a search warrant for a residence there and conducted a raid around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. They arrived and saw a 33-year-old Kalamazoo resident driving a vehicle into the driveway.
Officers detained him, executed the search warrant and saw six other adults and several young children in the home.
During the search, officers found a large amount of heroin that was packaged for sale, a large amount of marijuana, drug scales, packaging equipment and other evidence of drug trafficking.
The 33-year-old man was arrested for possession with intent to deliver heroin, maintaining a drug house, and on an outstanding warrant.
A 25-year-old female resident was arrested for possession with intent to deliver heroin and maintaining a drug house.
A 24-year-old Kalamazoo man was arrested for possession with intent to deliver marijuana and on an outstanding warrant.
A 37-year-old Kalamazoo man was arrested for possession with intent to deliver heroin.
A 22-year-old Kalamazoo man was arrested for resisting and obstructing and on two outstanding warrants.
