OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A woman reported missing early Tuesday morning was hit by a vehicle and died at a hospital.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Department investigated a report from her husband that 40-year-old Chancy Paulik was missing in the area of W. Main Street and 10th Street in Oshtemo Township. Her husband said he concerned about his wife's welfare.
Deputies actively searched the area and then received a report around 2:51 a.m. of a crash involving a vehicle and pedestrian on W. Main Street near Seventh Street.
The pedestrian was partially clothed at the scene. She was transported to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo where she was pronounced dead.
Police later identified the pedestrian as Paulik.
The driver in the crash was a 25-year-old woman from Kalamazoo. She was not injured. Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
